Why DHF was set up
As a chief Executive in the private sector and in the NHS , when I needed management support I struggled to find teams which were knowledgeable about the health sector and had the skills and commercial experience of the independent sector. This is why I established DHF as an association of highly experienced and senior experts in health care.
I found that some management consultants had big fees but limited health care knowledge. Their USP was that you have the safety of going back to your board and saying you hired a big firm.
DHF offers a small expert team, committed to your service and brings you substantial health sector experience. I supervise the work personally, using my associates efficiently to meet the specific needs of the client and his contract.
During my time heading up teams in central government, the NHS and the independent sector, I had to work on many aspects of health strategy, commercial contracting in health and clinical services design and operations. I have drawn on those experiences and built up an association of experts I trust, with specific skills in health care services. On leaving the commercial Directorate of the DoH, I used this network to provide services through DHF on many projects supporting the Department of Health, the NHS, the private sector service providers, other larger consultancies, banks and private equity houses.
My own experience includes Chief Executive roles in national and local organisations, working in acute care and mental health services, in procurement, delivery and strategy; in the private, voluntary and private sectors; for UK businesses and for businesses from the USA, Ireland, Sweden and India.
